I understand that relatives and scrapbooks need a few photographs of everyone looking at the camera and smiling, but I believe the best moments, the real keepsakes are the ones that happen in between the poses.
It's mom and dad with tired eyes staring at their new creation.
It's baby screaming relentlessly and dad bouncing that baby up and down trying to calm.
It's mom nuzzling so close and chubby arms peeking out of warm hugs and quick kisses stolen between understanding glances.
My goodness, it takes so much to bring a baby into this world, not to mention trying to understand this new wee human.
It's an experience. Family photo shoots are typically very stressful days but I try to take the guesswork out of them. I try to be the calm in the storm. You'll fill out a quick questionnaire so I can understand more about you and yours and then we'll speak a few weeks prior to the shoot to narrow down the perfect location, outfits and timing.
Newborn shoots are unlike any other because, having a daughter of my own, I understand that there is so much patience required. Babies needs are priority, even during a photoshoot. If we need to stop and let baby eat again, or change baby's diaper again, or hold that little one close until they stop crying again... all of that is a part of the master plan. :)
We invest money in vacations. It's a beautiful thing to that much more invest in the art of our everyday lives, the brief moments of here and now.
Finally to note, a lot of photographers might discourage Pinterest boards but I love to be inspired by what inspires you! Don't hesitate to put together a collage of photographs.
This shoot is an unlimited session -- as long as you can smile, I'll be there with my camera! I encourage you to scroll through the shots on the left to see different scenes.
